L11 consists of thirteen blocks of text that encode the biblical chapter Leviticus 11. This chapter is the basis for Jewish food laws, what animals are considered clean or unclean, essentially what one can and cannot eat.
The text is encoded using 26 mammal skulls that have a one to one correspondence to the english alphabet. The skulls are the color of red meat cooked rare.
A series of concrete plates serve as a key to this alternate alphabet.
